How it works
For registered psychotherapists, counsellors, and therapists in training who want to process sessions more deeply — and walk into the next one better prepared.
CDRA is an AI-powered clinical thinking partner that helps you reflect after sessions, explore your clinical thinking, and prepare for what's next.
It doesn't replace supervision or the therapeutic relationship.
It supports the space between them.
01
After a session, capture what happened in the room and how you're coming out of it.
Write your session notes, process reflections, countertransference observations, or anything that feels clinically significant. Type or dictate — raw and unedited if you wish.
Before anything is analysed, your notes pass through a privacy layer designed to flag and remove identifying details. You can also use CDRA purely as an encrypted clinical notebook — storing and retrieving your notes without ever sending them to the AI.
02
CDRA analyses your reflections through the lens of your modality, theoretical orientation, and clinical style.
It helps you think about:
The reflection isn't the end of the process. You can challenge the analysis, question its assumptions, and refine the thinking. Often the most useful insights emerge through this dialogue.
When you want to stay with a theme for longer, Go Deeper mode offers a more exploratory conversation — helping you think through what feels important, unfinished, or difficult to name.
“Such iterative process widens perspective-taking and the scope of engagement and gets the therapist to rethink, refine and reformulate their hypothesis.”
— Consultant Psychiatrist, GMC Registered
03
Before your next session, you can generate a pre-session compass on demand — a brief orientation to help you reconnect with the work.
Alongside this, CDRA builds a living working formulation that develops over time as sessions accumulate and patterns emerge.
Privacy & Security
Therapy notes require a different level of care.
Before notes are sent to the AI, a separate privacy layer attempts to flag and remove names and identifying details. This is a best-effort process, not a guarantee. The scanned version is used only for AI processing and is never stored. Your original notes are always saved separately — encrypted with your passphrase, accessible only to you.
Your notes are encrypted before storage using AES-256-GCM. The encryption key never lives on CDRA servers, and no human at CDRA can read your notes.
CDRA uses Anthropic's Claude via API. Session content is never used to train AI models.
You can dictate your session notes hands-free. Voice processing happens entirely on your device — CDRA never receives or stores audio. Only the text you choose to submit is sent.
Personalisation
During onboarding, you tell CDRA about:
This shapes every reflection, challenge, and countertransference insight. The more you use CDRA, the more personalised the experience becomes.
Important
Not a replacement for supervision
Anything that influences your clinical thinking belongs in supervision.
Not a clinical authority
CDRA may be wrong, incomplete, or not fit your way of working. You decide what's useful.
Not for crisis or safeguarding decisions
Always follow your established safeguarding procedures.
Not independent knowledge of your client
CDRA works from your reflections and observations — not from anything it independently knows.
Clinical judgement remains yours.
